Recyclops Winter 2022

A SIP team helped Recyclops become B Corp certified. This ensures that the company is held to a high standard, remains mission-focused, and is conscious of its environmental and social impact.

A team of three students consulted Recyclops about the timeline, the process, and who needs to be involved to complete B Corp certification. The first step included completing a B Impact Assessment. To proceed with the certification process, a company needs to get at least 80 points on the assessment; Recyclops achieved 98.8 points. The next step was to gather documents to prove the assessment answers and wait for a call from B lab to review the assessment and proceed with certification. Recyclops is currently in a long queue for this review call that may take up to 9 months before B Lab contacts Recyclops. After approval from the B Lab employee, Recyclops will be able to be certified. They will have to pay an annual fee, create a public profile to fulfill the transparency requirement, and recertify every three years.
